Welcome to a special interview with our Director of Operations, Kim Capstick. We chatted to Kim about Haithwaite Farm – which will be opening in 2026 and aims to blend sustainability, community and rural regeneration, while respecting the farm’s traditional character. Let’s find out how the project is progressing.

What can visitors expect to find at Haithwaite Farm?
“It goes without saying that Haithwaite Farm wouldn’t be complete without its own farm shop. The shop will be filled to the brim with produce from local farmers, cheesemakers and artists, meaning visitors can purchase a variety of high-quality products, while also supporting local businesses.
“The site will also have a café offering a variety of delicious meals, snacks and drinks which, again, will be made using local produce.
“One of the main features of Haithwaite Farm that we’re most excited about is the exhibition and event space. Our long-standing events, like the spring and Christmas craft fairs, will relocate from our sister location, Netherby Hall, to the new space at Haithwaite Farm. Having this area will also allow us to offer a wider variety of events to our visitors.
“All our homemade gin is currently grown, distilled and bottled at Netherby Hall but there will be the opportunity for us to expand this production thanks to the new-found space at Haithwaite Farm. We’re hoping to introduce distillery tours in the future, so that visitors can learn about the production process and sample some of our gin.
“There will also be a bar available for people to enjoy a drink or two when they visit the site. The expanded production of our gin will allow us to offer more of our homemade products at the bar, as well as the usual firm favourites, of course.”
Will there be any accommodation at Haithwaite Farm?
“We’re really excited to be offering two large accommodation units at Haithwaite Farm, in the old farmhouse and barn house. These units will be larger than those at Netherby Hall, with one unit having four bedrooms and the other having three, meaning larger groups will be able to stay with us.
“Although both units will be self-catering, there will be the opportunity to have lunch in the on-site café or indulge in a Michelin-star culinary experience at our other sister location, Pentonbridge Inn.
“In the future, we’ll also be bringing a spa wellness lodge to Haithwaite Farm which will offer visitors a relaxing and luxurious experience during their stay with us.”
Will there be any opportunities to join the team at Haithwaite Farm?
“We’re really passionate about creating employment opportunities for local residents and giving back to those who have supported us during the project. We’re delighted to say that more than 50 jobs will be created upon the opening of Haithwaite Farm, with more available as the site grows.
“We’ve also been liaising with local education providers to discuss the logistics of providing placements for their students. This will allow us to help young people enter the leisure and hospitality industry and develop their career – something that is incredibly important to us.
“So, whether you’re interested in working as part of front of house, catering or the spa, there’s an opportunity suitable for everyone. We encourage anyone wishing to join the team at Haithwaite Farm to contact us to discuss available recruitment options.
“We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Haithwaite Farm soon - see you in 2026!”
